A statement from the National Restaurant Associations' website, "The 90-day period for comments on draft menu labeling regulations from the Food and Drug Administration ended July 5. The FDA says it intends to issue final regulations by the end of 2011 and put them into effect by mid-2012. The law will require restaurants with 20 or more locations to provide calories on menus and menu boards, and make other written nutrition information available upon request." The FDA is expected to publish the final menu labeling regulations by the end of 2011. Compliance is expected 6 months after the regulation is published.
