The Howard Company is in a very select group of companies in the United States. We are a 100% employee owned company. As employee owners, we share in the rewards and also in the risks of owning a company.
In 1982, Kent Howard established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) which is a retirement plan invested solely in Howard Company stock. Between 1982 and 1993, shares were contributed into the plan while ownership control remained with the Howard family.
In 1993, through a leveraged buyout, the ESOP purchased a large block of shares from the Howard family.This left the ESOP with controlling interest in the company. Finally, in 1998, the ESOP purchased the remaining shares held by the Howard family and became 100% ESOP owned.
Today, we seek continuous improvement in everything we do. We strive to keep our costs as low as possible and aim for 100% customer satisfaction.
